Team Hiking Trip

Saturday, May 3rd

Mt. Monadnock, NH

This is a great hike with beautiful views.  It takes about 1hr 15min to get from Northampton to the Dublin Trail Head, which is a two+ hour hike up and another 2+ hours down.  Info about the Dublin Trail can be found on web site http://www.qcc.mass.edu/brink/Trav-rec/mt_monad/monadtr.html.  Dave Travers (Kaitlin’s dad) and Sherry have been on the hike before and look forward to hiking with the team again.

We will leave from the JFK parking lot at 8:45 am for those who want to meet, follow, or carpool.  Parents are welcome to come and drivers may be needed depending on the number of swimmers participating.  This hike is recommended for ages 8+up, but younger children are welcome with parents (keep in mind little legs need to hike uphill and down several miles and there is no other way up or down except to hike).

Please bring a bag lunch, at least 2+ bottles of water, and a fleece or sweatshirt (something warm, as it will be cooler on the mountain) and wear a good pair of sneakers or hiking boots/shoes.  Carry a day pack (like a school book bag size); younger swimmers could share a pack with parents.  FYI:  Verizon cell phones work well on the summit.

We should be back down to the trail head around 3:00 or 3:30pm and we will plan to stop on the way home for ice-cream.  We should be back in Florence around 4:30 or 5:00 pm.

Email Sherry (sherbw@comcast.net) if you plan to attend with details about who is coming, whether can drive, meeting at JFK, etc.  Sherry’s cell is 575-8559, in case you need it.  Hope you can come!
